Privacy Policy

1. Information ALTER does not collect

ALTER does not collect personal data for advertising, tracking, analytics, profiling, or sale. ALTER does not use third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, external AI services, or a custom user-data backend.

2. Reset history and personalization

Completed Reset history is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage technologies. This may include structured information such as the completion date, selected emotional state, Reset or protocol used, before-and-after intensity ratings, feedback, and technical protocol/component identifiers.

If you have an active ALTER+ subscription, ALTER may use this locally stored history to personalize future Reset recommendations. Personalization is calculated on your device. This information is not sent to an ALTER server.

3. Text you enter during a Reset

Some Reset experiences may allow you to enter a thought, task, or short reflection. This text is used only during the active session. It is not stored in your completed Reset history and is not used for personalization.

4. iCloud

ALTER may use Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to synchronize a single status indicating whether the one-time ALTER+ preview has already been used. This helps keep preview eligibility consistent across Apple devices signed in to the same iCloud account.

ALTER does not use iCloud to synchronize your Reset history, emotional states, intensity ratings, feedback, or text entered during a Reset. The preview-used status may remain in iCloud across devices or reinstallations so that the one-time preview remains one-time.

5. Widgets

ALTER may share a small aggregate snapshot with its iOS widget through Apple’s App Group storage. The widget snapshot may include the snapshot generation time, number of Resets completed during the current week, average reported shift, and whether any sessions have been completed. It does not include your individual Reset history or text entered during a Reset.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

ALTER+ purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. ALTER uses Apple-provided transaction and entitlement information on your device to determine subscription access. We do not operate our own payment processor or subscription database.

Apple’s handling of App Store transactions is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and terms.

7. Notifications

If you enable notifications, ALTER may use Apple’s notification system for app reminders or navigation. ALTER does not include your Reset history, intensity ratings, feedback, or entered text in notification payloads.

8. Data retention and deletion

Because ALTER does not maintain a server-side copy of your Reset history or entered text, we do not retain that information on our servers. Local app data is stored on your device and is removed when iOS removes the app’s local data, such as when the app is deleted.

The one-time ALTER+ preview-used status may remain in Apple iCloud key-value storage to preserve one-time preview eligibility across devices and reinstallations.

9. Third parties

ALTER does not share your Reset history, entered text, emotional state, intensity ratings, or feedback with advertising networks, analytics providers, external AI providers, or an ALTER-operated backend.

ALTER relies on Apple platform services such as StoreKit, iCloud, WidgetKit, and notifications where applicable. Those services are subject to Apple’s privacy practices.

10. Wellness disclaimer

ALTER is a wellness tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if ALTER’s features or data practices change. When we do, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
